Yes I’m shouting it! WORK at low volume! Its great for your ears and great for your mixdowns!
Now i’m forever banging on to my students about how important it is to mix and work on really low volumes.
It seems counterproductive doesn’t it? Like work with the volume down really low? Are you MAD?
Fletcher-Munson would certainly think so and with great reason!
So every now and again turn it up so you get a vibe..! And…. Bass levels are easier to judge when its louder.. but remember, NOT TOO LONG or you’ll just tire your ears out.
So yeah, try working at lower volumes and see how you go.
That means on headphones and speakers/monitors.
